Description

502 175 GT F0,5 mechanical pencil

metal, matt chromium plated, finger-grip area brown plastic
This sporty model is equipped with rigid protector sleeve, 4mm in lenght.
The GT F0.5 is loaded with 0.5mm polymer leads, grade HB.

This pencil is one of my favorites.
From the first generation of Tikky series, 1979. even before name Tikky was given.
Metal body with brown plastic grip area and also plastic bottom part.
This version has metal mechanism (seems to be aluminium) with plastic top.
Using green eraser.
No writing on pen, old 'rotring' logo on clip

Body is in size and shape same as later Tikkies.

Later, from 1983. it received Tikky title and this new version had many subtle differences. (shown in photos)
Comparison:
-clip has a bit different, new model has less round shape at connection and it is a bit longer and less wide, letters 'rotring' received new logo font.
-body is same in size but now got writing rotring in red letters, brown plastic is just a little more bright.
-metal mechanism was replaced by black plastic mechanism, same as other tikky pencils. Mechanism on first model is sticking out of the pencil.
-eraser is white instead of green
-nib part look the same but it is not compatible between models since first gen had shorter twist

I have seen another 'in between' version that has old clip but with added red rotring letters on body.
Most likely first generation model with just stamped letters on body offered in transition period in early 1980s. (haven't confirmed yet if it has old metal mechanism)
