Later generation of Variants pen from 1988.
Also called Variant II.
Main difference is long metal cylinder part above the nib. Also cap is different and includes clip.
Clip has 'rotring' and 'W.germany' written.

The rotring variant drawing pen is designed for technical drawing in accordance with the German standard DIN 15, series 2.
The sealing sleeve in the cap is equipped with a silicone ball.
Consequently, the cap provides a double hermetic seal:
1. directly at drawing tip,
2. at the opening of the pressure equalization system.
This double-acting seal ensures that the variant is kept ready for instant use all the time.
