xxxx Rotring 4 pen display stand

Unknown display stand made of aluminium and acrylic for 4 pens

This beautiful wall stand is still a bit of the mystery. We haven't found it shown in any catalog but it fits 1990s range and details.
Most likely connected to 600 series.

Rotring did not usually use black elastic thread to hold the pens like it is on this one.
Also on the back side there is a round hole suggesting mounting on the wall...but it is 90deg turned so I don't see how it could be mounted nor seems wrongly assembled.
Makes me wonder was this a part of the larger more complex display.
