R 502190 Tikky automatic LS - 3rd gen

Silver metallic, with fully automatic lead feed. The
hi-polymer lead is automatically advanced during use,
while the "LS" locking system prevents undesired lead
feed (when carrying in a pocket, for example). Loaded
with 0.5 mm HB polymer leads.


Available from 1987-1993.
This is the last version from early 1990s that had different mechanism and lead tube was replaced with lead cone...and at that time it transformed into 400 automatic model.
One could even argue that this is Tikky LS automatic / 400 model. Usual 400 automatic model is quite similar but has different cap and writing.
I have seen versions of original boxes for this pen with 'Tikky' and different with '400' (R 502 191) writting.

With this model (as Heath from Knockology discovered), rOtring chose to use the Kotobuki automatic mechanism, which is the same as in the Niji GRIP700, Platinum Hayaai II and the rotring altro.

Easily mixed with tikky S, but like all rotring automatics had a lot different nib part (comparison photo included).
