Description

R 504 307 Rotring Inital blue pencil 0.7mm

The Initial harmoniously combines classical and modern elements to set a tone of merit and character.
The new APC (Air Pressure Compensation) system of the fountain pen prevents ink leakage and ensures smooth writing, even during flight.
The spring-mounted points of rollerball give a perfect writing feel.

Available as Fountain pen, Rollerball, Ballpoint and mechanical pencil in 0.5 and 0.7mm
In matte chrome and blue and later in black high-gloss resin.

Unlike rOtring’s traditional sharp, hexagonal, all-metal technical drafting pencils, the Initial line brought a much softer, rounded, and curvaceous silhouette:
• The Barrel: Constructed from a high-gloss, cast acrylic resin that closely mimics a premium lacquer finish. It was produced in classic colors like black, matte silver, and blue.
• The Accents: Paired with a mirror-polished chrome or matte silver nose cone, end-cap finial, and a uniquely arched, spring-loaded pocket clip.
• Ergonomics: Features subtle tapered grooves or a light texture near the grip section to provide a relaxed, comfortable hold for extended daily writing sessions rather than technical ruler work.

Mechanism & Capability

• The Lead Size: While the Initial line was highly populated in 0.5mm variants, the 0.7mm variant is less common today. The 0.7mm lead width is generally favored for everyday writing or sketching because it breaks significantly less often than thinner sizes.
• Advance Type: It operates on an "easy-glide" push-button cap mechanism.
• Retractable Tip: Select 0.7mm models featured a double-push retractable sleeve mechanism, making the delicate lead tip pocket-safe and protected from bending.
